I putting this up so you can get an idea of the forms that I use. You will be able to read them before you come to meet the rats, so you know what I expect.

Social Rats Agreement Form

I agree that by adopting from Social Rats Adoption and Rescue that rescues do not come with any guarantees as neither their origin nor theis background is completely known. This does not apply to Social Rats Adoption lines.

That all efforts are made to ensure proper socialization is made however some issues may pop up from time to time. I agree to contact SOcial Rats should any issues arise that should be known, including helath and/or temperament. I agree to contact Social Rats within 4 days to give an update, perferrably by email, on how the rat(s) and our household are adjusting to the new situation. I agree to keep SOcial Rats informed of any health or behavioural issues that arise in the future.

I understand that any babies that I adopt are on a soy free diet and should I chose to feed the rat(s) I adopt soy, that no health guarantees are made. I understand that all Social Rats rats are on a soy free diet for their health and that it could help to prevent tumors and health issues by them remaining on a soy free diet. I understand that Cedar is bad for rats and will not use Cedar or Pine for bedding for them. I understand that Carefresh may cause mites and that should this happen, that I will contact Social Rats about a treatment of take them to a qualified vet. I understand that Social Rats does not use any type of bedding that could cause mites, so if mites are detected, that they did not come from Social Rats.

I agree that if the rat(s) that I adopt get sick, that I will contact either Social Rats or a qualified vet to have them treated and that I will keep Social Rats informed of the health and outcome of the treatment used. I agree that should circumstances change that prevent me from caring for the rat(s) that I adopt, that I will contact Social Rats before attempting to re-home to see if Social Rats has room. I understand that is I move or my info changes that I will get in contact with Social Rats to update this information. I agree that when my rat(s) that I adopt from Social Rats passes away that I will contact Social Rats, via email if possible, to give date and cause of death, if known. I understand that if I adopt from a Social Rats line, and something occurs in that line, that Social Rats may contact me for an update on the rat(s) I adopted to ensure that the same condition have not occurred with my own rat(s). I understand that Social Rats may or may not notify me about those issues, depending on the cause of the issues.

I understand that I will provide full disclosure about breeding or possible breeding of Social Rats rats. I agree that if I adopt a rescue that I will not breed them, as the background and history of the rat(s) may not be fully known. I understand that this does not apply to rats that may come through Social Rats Adoption, that Social Rats has obtained breeding rights to those particular rats, however I will inform Social Rats, prior to breeding, of my intention to breed them. I agree that if it is a Social Rats line that I wish to breed, that I will contact Social Rats to inform them of my choice to breed before breeding to obtain a pedigree for the rat(s) before breeding and to make sure that there are no genetic issues known at that time.
